Description
Atriance (Nelarabine) is an antineoplastic (anti-cancer) medication used in chemotherapy. It belongs to the class of drugs called antimetabolites and is specifically designed to treat certain types of leukemia and lymphoma, particularly T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) and T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma (T-LBL). Nelarabine is a prodrug that is converted into its active form, Ara-GTP, within the body, where it targets and destroys cancerous T-cells.
How It Works
Atriance (Nelarabine) works by interfering with the DNA synthesis in T-cells, particularly those that are cancerous. As a purine nucleoside analog, nelarabine gets metabolized into an active form, Ara-GTP, within the cell. This active compound is then incorporated into the DNA of rapidly dividing cancer cells, disrupting their replication process and ultimately leading to cell death. By selectively targeting T-cells, Atriance helps to destroy malignant cells, slowing down or stopping the progression of leukemia and lymphoma.Indications
Atriance is indicated for the treatment of:- T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (T-ALL): A fast-growing form of cancer in which too many immature T-cells are found in the blood and bone marrow.
- T-cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma (T-LBL): A type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma where T-lymphocytes (a type of white blood cell) become cancerous.

Common side effects of Atriance include:- Fatigue
