Description
How It Works
Rapatha (Evolocumab) 140 mg Injection is a monoclonal antibody used to lower cholesterol levels, particularly low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C). It works by inhibiting the proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) enzyme. PCSK9 binds to LDL receptors on the surface of liver cells and leads to their degradation. By blocking PCSK9, evolocumab increases the number of LDL receptors available to clear LDL from the blood, thereby significantly lowering blood cholesterol levels.List of Side Effects
