Description
Zirabev is a biosimilar to Avastin (bevacizumab), an anti-angiogenic drug used in the treatment of various cancers. It contains bevacizumab, which is a monoclonal antibody that inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). By targeting VEGF, Zirabev helps to prevent the growth of blood vessels that supply tumors, thereby inhibiting tumor growth. Each vial contains 25 mg/ml of bevacizumab for intravenous infusion.
How It Works
Zirabev works by binding to and neutralizing VEGF, a protein that stimulates the formation of blood vessels (angiogenesis). VEGF is overexpressed in many tumors and contributes to tumor growth by providing the necessary blood supply. By inhibiting VEGF, Zirabev reduces the formation of new blood vessels, thereby starving the tumor of nutrients and oxygen needed for its growth and survival. This action helps to control tumor growth and spread.Side Effects
