Description
How It Works
Aranesp (Darbepoetin alfa) is a synthetic form of erythropoietin, a protein that stimulates the production of red blood cells. It is used to treat anemia, particularly in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) or those undergoing chemotherapy. Darbepoetin alfa works by binding to the erythropoietin receptor on erythroid progenitor cells in the bone marrow, promoting their survival, proliferation, and differentiation into mature red blood cells. This helps to increase the red blood cell count and improve the oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood, alleviating symptoms of anemia.List of Side Effects
